(((authentic kinda…)))
meditating kinda.
thinking about not following any thoughts.
realizing what a ridiculous statement (thought) that is and smiling.
recalling some of the dozens of thoughts that preceded it, all in the context of what might be written (about) here this morning…
authenticity, for example — some sort of subjective accuracy of self-expression. is that what this is?
what self is being expressed, if it even exists, and what words could possibly portray it accurately?
authentically who?
thinking about beginning these entries being similar to spear fishing — whatever fish happens to be at the right place at the right time…
thinking about vulnerability in a similar context — is that about sharing memories, thoughts, feelings, what ((whatever else someone wants to know))? what constitutes being vulnerable? what are the primary associations with “okay, now you really see ((/know)) me”?
if asked, i would probably say thoughts ((including those about feelings and experiences)) are the most intimate, authent-ic, vulnerable things i can share, but maybe not every-one thinks that way…
regardless, are such experienc-es, thoughts, feelings truly me? am i all this ram-bling, however coherent, incoherent, consistent or inconsistent? am i whatever experiences and/or feelings i’m capable of remembering and/or describing?
what is it really to be open, vulnerable, authentic if who or what i am is ultimately unknown ((perhaps unknowable))?
thinking, sensing, perceiving — phenomena…
breathing…
noticing…
being…
open, aware, present…
whatever is…
here…
nothing excluded…
now…
this…
being is…
… an unconditional yes to experiencing…
💕
in the context of expression of the universe as a whole, or of any sort of spiritual concept of absolute, oneness, beingness, etc., what could be the definition of “inauthentic”? what would ever be an inauthentic expression of all that is?
or, put another way, if everything is ultimately an expression of one thing, by what means could anything ever actually be inauthentic, as even any apparent imitation would, itself, still ultimately be an expression of that thing?
and then what do “authentic” and “inauthentic” come to actually mean?
and if vulnerability is in any way associated with authenticity, how does that work?
